Suburban Subversive

There are those magical mothering moments that happen completely out of the blue, and just make my heart swell up with love. That make all those past horrible nights and long days completely vanish. I sure had one today.

I’m with the boy at his speech therapy appointment, and we’re all on the floor playing a game. It’s going well, and things have been improving for him in so many ways lately. Suddenly, out of nowhere, while I’m looking down and playing this silly word game, the boy plants a huge kiss on my cheek. I turn to him, and he’s giving me the most adoring, love filled look I’ve ever seen. My heart just melted.

I’m still smiling about it.
